For those that search for gratification in order to satisfy their inner adrenaline junkie, we've got the perfect solution for you. Forget skiing, snowboarding or even jumping out of a plane for a tandem skydive... Travellers visiting Dubai can now zip wire THROUGH the Dubai Fountain from an impressive height of 1,800 feet. The absolutely breath taking ride is situated beside the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, (so not for the faint hearted or those scared of heights!) and provides a 40 second adrenaline rush like no other!
The journey begins at the top of one of Downtown's residential buildings and the rooftop of the Dubai Mall. Following the ride's launch in the beginning of October, brave thrill-seeking riders of the XLine zip wire will travel hundreds of feet across the city and pass iconic structures on the way, including the Dubai Fountain, in which 'zippers' will end the ride completely drenched in water!
Although originally met with popular demand, the ride will remain exclusive to just 10 riders per week from the beginning of October until the end of December. Hopeful riders must apply through the website or via social media in order to be considered and if successful, will receive an invitation from creators, XDubai, to try out the stunt for themselves.
The first rider of the zip wire was Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, who recently posted to his Instagram account a photo of him trying out the attraction for the first time. Flying down the runway and holding a selfie stick attached to his camera, he appears to be having a fantastic time in the 30 second video. We see him fly past famous landmarks before being cascaded in turquoise clear water from the Dubai Fountain. We're just a little bit jealous!
