The FCO has advised British nationals aged 70 and over, and those with underlying health conditions (such as chronic diseases and diabetes), not to travel on cruise ships in response to the coronavirus outbreak. Please note that we cannot provide cover for anyone to travel against the advice of the FCO. Please check with your cruise provider before purchasing a policy.
Cruises are the ultimate luxury holiday and are growing in popularity among travellers of all ages. With 5-star comfort, fine dining, service and entertainment, a cruise holiday will often exceed the standards and value for money of an all-inclusive package deal. Convenience is often a deciding factor when booking as travellers are able to visit multiple places and not have the added stress of airport queues, having to pack your bags each time or the dreaded jet lag!
It is important to remember that a cruise is a little different to your standard holiday, and therefore requires a specialist cruise travel insurance policy. Whatever sort of cruise you're planning, the Alpha Travel Insurance cruise extension has no upper age limit on our Single Trip policies, so you can simply relax knowing we've got you covered.
Alpha Travel Insurance offers a bespoke cruise extension that is tailored to suit your individual needs which can be added on to your existing Single Trip or Multi-Trip travel policy. Our cruise cover gives you complete control over the type of insurance you need at fantastic value for money - just choose your policy, choose your excess and add your cruise cover!
An Alpha Travel Insurance Cruise extension provides the following key benefits among other areas:

For one, missed port stops and cabin confinement are not covered on a standard policy, and if the worst were to happen and you require emergency medical attention, you may need to be airlifted to the nearest mainland hospital for care.
All of our policies come with Activity Pack 1 included, for anything else, add whatever additional pack you may need!
Yes, unfortunately at the moment, we can only provide cover for cruises up to the value of £1,250/person.
Nope, one cruise extension added onto your multi-trip policy will give you up to 31 days of cruising for the 12 months, on single trip policies, of course, you need to add it on to each policy you get!
Of course! If you have a family policy with us, then the cruise extension will cover the whole bunch of you on the policy.
