Following on from our post last week on bizarre things found in planes, we have decided to continue the weird and wonderful theme. When travelling, things can be forgotten pretty much anywhere! A recent survey by Travelodge has revealed a list of the most unusual items found in hotel rooms and accommodation... and some of them will make you wonder why they got packed at all!
Other more normal and commonly forgotten items included iPhones, chargers, clothes, suitcases and toiletries. More than 76,000 teddy bears were initially forgotten and later reunited with their owners, making them one of the most forgotten items in hotels.
Books are also a frequent item found in accommodation; over 7,000 copies of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' by E.L. James were found, closely followed by 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' by Steig Larsson, then 'The Hunger Games' by Suzanne Collins.
Travelodge keeps all unclaimed items for a maximum of 3 months before donating them to charity.
For some, the stress of getting from A to B in a hurry can sometimes lead travellers to forget items. Printing off travel checklists can be a great way of organizing yourself while travelling, alongside having quality travel insurance to cover lost, delayed or damaged items.
