Following the executive order initiated by the USA on Friday the 27th January 2017, we at Alpha Travel Insurance would like to clarify our position and let you know where your policy stands.
We always suggest checking the current FCO advice regarding your travel destination; the advice for the USA can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/usa
Fore EIRE residents, the advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade are here: https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice/a-z-list-of-countries/united-states-of-america/
This type of event is unfortunately not covered across the travel insurance industry for claims relating to cancellation or curtailment. This is due to most policies have the following exclusion relating to cancellation and curtailment:
If you have been offered an alternative destination and/or travel dates for your trip by you travel agents or your operators, then we are pleased to say we can 'shift' your insurance policy to correspond with these for free. To find out more with regards to shifting your insurance, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org and our claims team will be happy to help.
If you can't move your trip destination or dates, and your travel agent/tour operator offer you a full refund, then we are also happy to offer you a refund of your policy premium, as long as no claims have been or will be made against this policy.
If you have any further questions, queries or general concerns, please contact us on email@example.com, we’re happy to help!
