Following the flight cancellations that have affected British Airways customer this weekend, we here at Alpha Travel Insurance would like to clarify the cover available to our policyholders.
You may submit a claim for cancellation if you have suffered a delay of longer than 24 hours, your trip is for more than two days, and not a one-way trip and provided that you are unable to obtain a refund from your travel organiser, tour operator or British Airways.
You are able to submit a claim if your departure has been delayed by more than 12 hours and the delay is not because of any aircraft diversion after departing.
For your claim for cancellation or departure delay to be assessed by our claims team, you must not have been offered any compensation, or alternative transport that departs within 12 hours. If you have any further questions relating to this, then please email the claims team on email@example.com.
If you have any further questions, queries or general concerns, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org. We’re happy to help!
