3 Cute Activities for Galentine’s Day 2023

Galentine’s day: the friendship version of Valentine’s Day. Introduced by late Millennials back in 2010, Galentine’s is an unofficial holiday celebrated the day before Valentine’s Day (13th February).

It’s a pretty similar to concept to Valentine’s Day (you know, telling the one you love just how much they mean to you), but instead of letting your other half know how much you love them – you tell your friends (or gals’) instead! Oh, and you don’t have to buy them a card either, which is a right result.

Let’s be honest. Good friends are there for you through the highs and lows. They’re the ones you run to when you need some good advice. And, in some cases, have been on the scene much longer than your other half. So, how can you not celebrate the love that you have for your soul sisters (or misters!)?

Now, there’s no right or wrong way to celebrate Galentine’s Day, so whether you’re planning a heartfelt text on the group chat to let your girls know how much they mean to you, or if you plan to spend the day showering your friends with affection, we’ve got a few ideas on how you can celebrate with the leading ladies of your life. Read on for inspo’.

A spa day

Nothing quite screams ‘girl time’ than a day of pampering. So, what better way to celebrate your platonic love than relaxing in a robe with your besties?

Spa days can be tailored to most budgets and can often be as long or short as you like. You can book a spa trip for a whole weekend, just a day, or even just for a few treatments – the choice really is yours. Plus, with so many different spas available across the UK, you really can’t go wrong with a day full of R&R.

A log cabin break

Did somebody say hot tub! Just imagine it. A night or two in a log cabin surrounded by great views, a glass of fizz (or two) and your best ones. If a night of sitting back and catching up doesn’t sound like heaven, then we don’t know what does!

Whack out the karaoke machine, get your walking shoes on, or simply stick your favourite food in the oven with a bottle of something nice to accompany.

Whatever your idea of chilling with your best ones for a few nights involves, a log cabin is sure to be a great option to celebrate February 13th. Just remember to protect your trip with travel insurance, if you’re spending more than two nights away from home!

A weekend abroad

A day celebrating with your girls might not cut it for some – after all, finding a date in the diary that suits everyone can often be hard enough. So how about making the most of the days you’ve got together and planning a weekend away overseas?

Spend the weekend dancing in Barcelona like the Cheetah Girls (a throwback for the fellow millennials), or a few nights exploring the city on Amsterdam. Whatever your girls are into, why not make a break of it? Flights can be relatively cheap if you book last minute and can be flexible with your departure time. Or, make it an experience and catch the train. With the Eurostar travelling to countries including Amsterdam and Paris, you can reach a whole new destination without stepping foot in the sky.
