You can choose to contribute £50, £60 or £100.

When does cover start on a Longstay policy?
You are covered for any loss of pre-paid flights and accommodation from the minute you pay your premium. All other covers begin from the moment you leave your home to start your holiday or trip until you return home again.

What is a pre-existing medical condition?
Any medical condition, serious or recurring, which has previously been diagnosed, investigated or treated in anyway at any time prior to travel, even if this condition is currently considered to be stable and under control by the use of drugs.

What do I do if I have a pre-existing medical condition?
You can declare your Medical Conditions by contacting our medical screening helpline, on 0845 230 7439. Please refer to the policy wording for the criteria regarding pre-existing medical conditions.

Is there an age limit on this policy?
The Longstay policy is available to those of you under 40 years old. However, if you are aged over 40 and thinking about an extended trip, then provided you are not travelling for more than 12 months, our Single Trip travel insurance policies should suit you perfectly.

While I am away, I am planning on taking part in some adrenaline pumping activities, will I be covered?
If you are taking part in any sport or activity that may be hazardous, have a look at our activity list to check if you are covered. We define an activity as hazardous if it requires skill and carries an increased risk of injury. At alphatravelinsurance.co.uk we automatically cover hundreds of activities under our policies free of charge. These are shown under band one of the activities list. If your sport or activity does not fall under band one, you do have the option to pay a small additional fee to extend your cover.

Do the sums insured and policy excess apply to the whole group or each person?
The sums insured apply to each individual person, even if you have purchased a family, couples or single parent family policy.

I am travelling out of the UK on a one way or open ticket, am I covered?
Yes. However, in the event of a claim you would have to provide written evidence that you intended to return to the UK i.e. work commitments. Please note that this policy is not intended to offer cover if you are emigrating.
