Passengers on board Air France flights will get to watch the new chapter of Star Wars two days before its release! The airline plans to let customers watch the new film Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 16th, whereas millions of die-hard fans won't get to watch the new release until December 18th - two days later.Tickets for the long awaited blockbuster, which is set 30 years after episode six, will be officially released on December 18th. However fans have been so desperate to get their hands on a ticket for the popular and long anticipated release, as thousands of extra visitors to cinema websites and increased traffic has resulted in it completely crashing. This led dozens of fans to take to the cinema's social media channels to complain that they were unable to obtain one of the 'golden' tickets - alongside not being able to view any other film information on the Cineworld and Odeon websites! Many fans stated that they had not received any sort of email confirmation of their ticket purchase, despite having money being taken out of their accounts.
A teaser trailer alongside a film poster was released on the Star Wars website earlier in October which sent fans into complete overdrive as they frantically tried to figure out clues and piece together the plot. The film stars some of the original cast members including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher as well as favourites C-3PO, R2-D2 and Chewbacca.
As a result, Air France announced that it was teaming up with EuropaCorp Cinemas in order to offer its customers the chance to attend advance screenings of the film on December 15th. The film will be screened on four of its Paris-bound flights - AF083 from San Francisco, AF065 from Los Angeles, AF011 from New York and AF009 from New York. Travellers on board these flights will be provided with free tickets as well as a free ride in the 'dedicated Star Wars shuttle' to a cinema in Paris the day after landing - not bad!
To apply, passengers need to purchase a ticket on one of the above flights before December 10th and then fill out a form on the Air France website.
